We take being eco-conscious very seriously.

From the very beginning, every aspect of each KIND product is designed to be as green as possible, both inside and out.

Every choice we make with our packaging, ingredients, and processes must align with our goals – which are to actively help….

REDUCE

the deforestation and depletion of our natural resources, toxic emissions, and polluted air and water….

STOP

the ever-growing mounds of non-biodegradable trash on our lands and acres of garbage in our seas…

REVERSE

the negative effects our actions as humans have had on our climate.

Our commitment to be KIND to the earth...

The team here at KIND is continuously looking for ways we can benefit the environment with our choices.

We continue the move away from single-use plastics. Our Refill and Package Reduction Program has grown very quickly since offering it in early 2020. It has saved nearly 1000 plastic bottles from going out our door in the past last year alone.

We are offering more and more products to be refilled all the time and only have a small few that can’t be refilled or sold without packaging. In addition to refilling our liquid soaps, lotions, cremes, butters, skin care, bath salts, sprays, and scrubs by-the-ounce, we also sell packaging-free products that we refer to as “naked”. These include bars of soap, bath bombs, solid sugar scrubs, and refillable “pucks” for our lotion bars and therapy balms. Every product we make is packaged in glass, compostable cello bags or an eco-conscious biodegradable paper. With the exception of those pesky lip balms and glosses – we haven’t found a great solution for those yet, but we’re working on it!

Our labels are Plastic and Tree-Free. Our bar soap labels are printed on PureLabels substrate, from Distant Village, Inc. The label stock is made from natural and renewable sugarcane waste fibers. The adhesives are 100% RCA (Recycle-Compatible Adhesive) and the Release Liner (the silicone coated paper backing) is from reclaimed and repaired industrial liner waste. Our other labels are “oil and water-resistant” and are printed with soy ink on tree-free, water-free, recyclable FiberStone or BioStone labels, both made from crushed rock and from a clean production process which does not utilize water or emit toxic air. They are chlorine free, acid-free, and safe for the environment.

When we see an opportunity to do something “greener” we do. Our hang tags, business cards, and marketing materials are printed on 100% PCW recycled paper with vegetable based ink by Greener Printer. In addition to using the most sustainable papers and ink, they are wind powered and completely carbon neutral. greenerprinter.com

We use Nature FlexTM biodegradable Cello bags. They are made from wood cellulose fibers sourced with sustainable forestry principles. Certified biodegradable, compostable and made with nearly zero environmental impact

In addition to our packaging, we ensure that all of the ingredients we use completely biodegrade back into the ecosystem, and don’t pollute our water supply. (For example, we don’t use Triclosan or plastic scrub beads). We make sure all the ingredients we use are from Sustainable sources and if sourced from certain areas of the world are Fair Trade including RSPO Certified Palm oil.

We make adjustments when we can. We recently switched our bath salts from glass bottles to biodegradable paper bags. Being much lighter, they take less energy to ship, and with glass bottles and plastic lids, we could only hope they would be recycled properly or reused.
